Vow What a Violinist !!!

Armenian friend told this joke to me recently.

At a musical competition a teenage guy played violin. Judge was surprised at his unique style and asked him after audition, "I see you moving bow in only one direction. Moreover you are not using your fingers on strings". For that, confidant violinist replied " Most of the violinists are still in search of right note but i already found the right one"

Happiness

Is just happiness is the most important thing in your life or all the things and achievements in the world which in turn gives us happiness is the most essential or i am talking about the same things here. All these years of exciting journey suggest me that how we are going to end each day is the most important and often difficult to achieve. Starting the day with fresh positive energy is something easily amalgamated and cultivated but ending the day with same spirit and energy takes million dollar worth of serotonin.

Mr. Out Of The Blue: Jet

Here I am writing about our neighbor kid. Out of the blue he shows up while i am outside in the evenings or weekends and yells something to me and disappears.I have also given a name to him because of this. I call him 'Jet'. Once Jet told me that he has a girl friend.I don't know what it means to him at that age but i am sure Jet knows something vaguely. Last evening Jet appeared with new funky hair style. Says this is for his girlfriend and shouts "Hurrah, this hair for Laura". By the way Laura is his so called girl friend's name. Who can possibly match the energy levels of kids. But one thing is sure good or bad i don't know but media has huge impact on growing kids. But for me whenever i see this kid, i definitely get a smile on my face along with glimpses of my childhood memories.

I was born and I will be gone

I was born and I will be gone

Had to walk, run and jump alone
Simple or mysterious all possibles done
May be because of something I know,
I was born and I will be gone.

I ate rice, fries, corn,
And everything that was grown
Nothing but all in vain coz
I was born and I will be gone

I went to Italy, Europe and Japan
Nothing wonders me now like before
May be the reason is as simple as this one
I was born and I will be gone.

I browsed, I learned and I scribbled
And done everything that I believed
May be for only clue I had
I was born and I will be gone

Told everything that's in my heart
Touched everything that I loved
'Right or wrong' no offence b'coz
I was born and I will be gone

On a Lighter Note: What is like marrying him/her

How our major profession transforms our personality in the long run. A few random thoughts....

1)Let's imagine you married a software professional, don't you see him updating every day and eventually finding himself in a program where he himself runs by it not the other way around.

2)How it would be, if you marry a teacher. May be you find him/her preaching now and then and the petty rules of discipline. Can't digest everyday right.

3)Then think of marrying a reporter, who if not criticize will definitely makes a point where you find yourself cornered one fine day.

4)And how it will be different if you marry a business man, who makes habit that every thing counts on any given day. You just become a number for him.

5)How about you marrying a celebrity for that matter? Where he can find a time for you who always enjoys self pampering.

Anyways I am just kidding.I am putting my weird thoughts on different professions.I haven't discussed many other professions which might be having something like this. I think every profession has its pros and cons and finally we end up into different professions based on our ambitions and choices. There is nothing like good profession or bad profession. The only basic requirement is to fulfill our needs and requirements.

Juss for Fun : Mr.Shy Guy!!!

Here in United States public laundries are familiar to those who live in apartments and student dormitories. Sometimes you will experience somethings that you cannot stop telling them to your friends. The other day when i went to laundry to finish my weekend late night laundry job, i had this experience which is not uncommon for most of us who use public washing and drying facilities. I found some lady undergarment(UG) along with my clothes after drying. When i was about to place it in 'LOST' place on the laundry table, something striked to me and my friend's mind. We placed UG under the other friend's pillow. We wanted to see his reaction as he is very shy guy and never talk to girls. The same day a new person joined our room and was asked by this shy guy to sleep on his bed. When this new guy started clearing his bed, he found the UG under the pillow. Unfortunately I was not present at that moment. To our surprise our plan seemed to be blown out of proportion as we only planned this for the shy guy and we wanted him to find out by himself. The shy guy felt very awkward and speechless to what happened there. When he inquired about the details, my accomplice mentioned my name as i was not there. He approached me later in the evening and asked about that. I realized that it was blown out of proportion. I still unable to forget his reaction but appreciated his sportive attitude which otherwise could have led to nothing but a third world war.

Trying To Recall

I read somewhere: "It is a positive aspect of our character to believe in God, goodness, love, and self-contentment. Sharing little things and showing affection towards others gives us happiness and a feeling of completeness. Cultivate a sense of humor and that will definitely light up your gloomy sky".

***For my memory and review, i wanted these lines in my post***

It's been ages i stopped doing any kind of regular exercises and workout. Sometimes swimming, little bit beach volleyball and couple of times gym workout that's what i am doing in recent months. But my daily routine used to quite different when i was a teenager. Yoga and jogging used to be the most important daily activities that i never used to skip. If jogging was enforced by my dad, Yoga was something which i passionately learned and regularly practiced until i was seventeen. When i was fourteen, me along with a group of friends went to one famous vipassana center (Yoga/Meditation Ashram) near our city. This ashram was built in traditional old hermitage style and used to run in the same old fashioned way. I still remember that 10 day stay in that beautiful ashram and the wonderful impressions that meditation training left on me. We used to have 5-6 hrs daily regime of meditation in a well built underground hall. Aashram also used to provide small individual private rooms for those who wanted to practice vigorous meditation for longer periods. These rooms were designed to resemble the olden day caves where sages used to perform penance for longer periods of time. I think this was the great attraction and thrilling experience for young students like us at that moment. The simple meditation techniques i learned in those days are the most valuable tools that still help me to combat with the all kinds of stresses that i accrue in this fastidious and mechanical world.

I badly need my teenage discipline back, completely at my will. Will I??

Can't Stop Posting This :)

When my friend told me this joke, the next minute i have signed into my blog and posted it. Juss can't stop myself sometimes, huh!!!

*************************************************************
After she woke up, a woman told her husband, "I just dreamed that you gave me a pearl necklace for Valentine's day. What do you think it means?"

"You'll know tonight," he said.

That evening, the man came home with a package and gave it to his wife. Delighted, she opened it - to find a book entitled,
"The meaning of dreams"

I can't stop laughing for a while and hope you too :).

San Diego Road Trip

Travelled almost 3000 miles in California, Nevada and Arizona this long week end. This was all of sudden an impromptu trip for me. Even though excited being in Las Vegas and Los Angeles(LA), more fun came from San Diego(SD) trip. My dad always used to tell me about the beauty of San Francisco but i had a quite different impression after visiting San Diego. For me, it is the the most beautiful city i visited so far in the United States.

As I had to drop my friend for final interview, I started immediately to San Diego after my long weekend trip. On our drive to San Diego, we found many agricultural farms most of which consisted of various fruits and nuts. We halted at one of the farmer markets and bought a whole bag of cherries, mandarins and strawberries for just few bucks. They were fresh, juicy and indeed a right choice for our eight hour summer journey. Drive from LA to SD was really thrilling as we were driving on coastal belt of pacific Ocean for most of the time. We reached the city in the evening and slept waiting for the fresh dawn. The next morning, I dropped my friend for interview and went to explore the new city on my own. My first impression after visiting the down town was quite surprising. I had this gut feeling that the city was built just recently, for that matter i guess the feeling will not be different for any new visitor. Everything about the city looks new and completely clean. The air was so fresh and thrilling that one cannot stop complementing about that.

Finally, i got the good news that my friend cleared his interview and we decided to drove to one of the beaches near to that place. Even though we wanted to go Coronado beach(one of the best beaches in US) initially but visited Pacific beach as per our local friend suggestion. Beach was damn busy that day contrary to what we thought it would be on a week day. Me and my friend used our little engineering skills and built a model of TITANIC ship with the beach sand as a memory of our visit. We spent almost an hour there and started driving to Hollywood. We spent some time near Kodak theatre, Madam Tussauds, Hollywood street and drove back to my place. On the whole, i felt the trip was exciting and refreshing. I am pretty much sure that one would fall in love with San Diego city on their first visit itself. And don't forget to visit Coronado beach if you plan to visit the city with your family though i missed it.

You Know Its Going to be Good Day When!!!

You know its going to be good day, when
Its eight in the morning still sun doesn't show up
You juss wake up and somebody asks you for a cup of coffee
Your boss tells that you don't have to work this weekend
You wear unwashed wrinkled jeans and still you get a complement

You know its going to be good day, When
You get a fake mail creating a hope of great fortune for you
You find all signals turn green on your drive to office
You get an extra tax credit in your checking account
You get a invitation from new neighbor for BBQ party

You know its going to be good day, When
Your morning headline reads "Economy Boomrang"
You get a wrong call but it's still makes a great sense
Your friend leaving for vacation hands you his BMW convertible
Your wife says Love you honey once again!!!

Hey Genie! What's Up Dude?

I heard many jokes associated with genie and this one is for you. The following joke is actually has many different variations to be told in different situations.
********************************************************************************
A woman was walking along the beach when she stumbled upon a genie's lamp.

She picked it up and rubbed it. Lo-and-behold a genie appeared. The amazed woman asked if she got three wishes.

The Genie said, "Nope. Due to inflation, constant downsizing, low wages in third-world countries and fierce global competition, I can only grant you one wish. So, what'll it be?"

The woman didn't hesitate. She said, "I want peace in the Middle East.

See this map? I want these countries to stop fighting with each other."

The Genie looked at the map and exclaimed, "Gadzooks, lady! These countries have been at war for thousands of years. I'm good, but not THAT good! I don't think it can be done. Make another wish."

The woman thought for a minute. She said, "Well, I've been trying to find the right husband. You know, one that's considerate and fun, likes to cook and helps with the housecleaning, has a great sense of humor and gets along with my family, doesn't watch sports all the time and is faithful. That's what I wish for. A good mate."

The Genie let out a long sigh and said, "Let me see that map again.

The pride of Self Employment: High School Friend Nandu

Was not a big dreamer, was not follower of fluid youth but a smug who caressed a small business which now groomed into three branches. Never had a inch of pride that he owned them or that he disproved his father who was not in his favor initially. The other interesting thing about him is that he sends one proverb each day to me.Never skipped a day.I think proverbs have helped him a lot.I was unable to check his proverbs for the last seven days.Juss copying below what he sent me last week. There is no doubt that most of the us cross this life ocean with the help some of the proverbs we believe in.

9:20 PM 5/3 "The true measure of an individual is how he treats a person who can do him absolutely no good." HAVE A NICE DAY
9:15 PM 5/4 "Here is the test to find whether your mission on Earth is finished: if you're alive, it isn't." HAVE A NICE DAY

Our Annual Reunion: 3 Idiots or 23 Idiots!!!

Recently our classmates in engineering were gathered for annual get together at YATHRI NIVAS, Hyderabad. We formed a yahoo group( Cheesemakers ) and always in touch with each other since our under graduation. As I was unable to attend the meet, I sent a email which is the least i can do. The email is copied below.
xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Can't believe that so many years passed. Still college memories are fresh to me. Many things changed and destined all of us in our own way of dreams. The journey was exciting and full of surprises. I tried my best to remain same but if anything changed slightly from then, I can confidently say now: ” Naveen can dance saala” :). I am happy for Narender, as his earlier plans are materializing in this way. Even though not possible to attend, my spirit is always there with you. I am happy that our batch continues to be in touch. I don’t know how many (3 or 23) idiots will make to this event but for all those who made to the event the only thing i want to say is "Welcome to the Cheese Makers Club".

Spl thanks to Anshu for taking the responsibility to organize the meet again. Hope this tradition will continue.

I wrote small speech and would love to read this to you personally but I request somebody to read it on my behalf.

Maanyaniya shikshagan aur mere piyaaare sahpatiyo!!!

AAj agar hum idar upsthith hai to uska shrey sirf ek hi shaks ko jaata hai voh hai Almighty. Lekin yeh Anshu ke madyam se phir hone ki hamein hi naahi, poori batch ko behat kushi huyi hai. Hum vaha upasthith nahi hai ise humein behat afsos hai aur rahega.

Pahle bees saal mein humne kya kiya abhi humein koi pooche ga naahi. Lekin aakri saalon mein tho hum sab ne kalpanik jindagi chodke, nij jindagi mein uthrey hai. Hum naahi poochenge life ne aapko kitna balathkaar kiya. Haala ki hum ise 100 % maanke chalthe hai.

Humein behat kushi iz liye hain ki, hum sabne is nij jindagi may kuch na kuch paaya aur pakayaa. Nagesh ne kud ka company lagaya tho, Narender ne doctor banke dhikaaya; Venkat ne infosys may duniya ka chakkar kaata tho, Anshu ne kellogs brand paake dhikaaya; Vinod tho software perfectionist bangaya tho, Bhaskar ne patent power paaya. Stanford Visit : A Wish Come True

If you ask a teenage guy in southern part of India,'what he is doing', One of the obvious answers you would expect from him is that he's preparing for IIT entrance examination. And when you ask an IITian about what he would like to do when he is done with the IIT, the another obvious answer is, 'getting into an American Top Technical Universities such as MIT, Harvard, UC(Berkely) or Stanford'. I too prepared for IIT entrance exam with a zeal which ended up nothing but a seat in Osmania University, Hyderabad. Heard of Stanford University a lot but when i had an opportunity to visit the university accidentally for one of my friend's help, i was really excited. Located near to San Francisco, the university it self has a great surroundings. Beautiful sceneries apart, the university probably one of the best places for a student to meditate on his research and creative studies. If Santa cruz mountain ranges are on one side, the other side is open to be beautiful pacific ocean. The university occupied more than eight thousand acres with approximately eighteen thousand students. Once again, i was mesmerized in a such a way that i got to recall one of the James Cameron Movies, Jurassic Park where he takes us into different world before landing of helicopter on helipad. It was Asha Foundation, US based Indian Student Organization, collecting some funds by organizing Holi festival(Festival of Colors) at their campus. Major part of ASHA foundation goes to quality education in India. More than 4000 people turned out for the event; Most of them are under graduates, graduates and surrounding American and Indian families. It seemed that most of the people had a great fun.I felt that they had all the colors of the year in just one day. No doubt children had unstoppable entertainment for about four hours. I met the student president over there and inquired many interesting things about the university which are really fascinating. Time was not sufficient that day for me to visit various departments and wings. But probably looking forward to visit leisurely once again with the help of my friend and student president over there.

Inspiration!

To be honest, i never learned much things from elders or icons. It's always kids, children and new born babies who taught something which i was always lacking and wanted. The confidence and the fun of a small baby when he's lifted in air (or) A small kid who asks interesting questions now and then with lot of enthusiasm (or) uninterrupted fun and focus that kids used to get from the same old toy are some undoubtedly most amazing things that we come across every day. Sometimes, we realize that well educated adults lack the common sense that small kids do. Why we lose all those good things once we grew up. Why don't we carry and cherish those good qualities till the end of life. No answer. The following video is taken from you tube and has a good message.

Wireless Electricity: Thought for the day :)

After Einstein, nobody ever came closer to his imagination and creativity. He astounded people with his most amazing theories which were even difficult to understand. Nineteenth and Twentieth century discoveries left us nothing but working on existing research or introducing the line extentions for the existing research.

If I were to answer the question of best invention sofar in this world,I would definitely go for 'electricity'. Juss imagine ourselves in 21st century without electricity, we cant and it seems an absolutely impossible task for us. But since my teenage days to now the one invention i was eagerly waiting is "wireless electricity". People can question that how can this would really possible?. How we are going to achieve this with lot of safety concerns and doubts?. Man invented most amazing things which even difficult to imagine. If most dangerous nuclear power plants are possible, why cant this?. My logic is very simple. If we can convert solar energy into electrical energy, why cant we juss do the vice versa like converting electrical energy into solar energy, which can be captured anywhere in the globe very easily. The only matter of concern is how we are going to convert that and at what intensity and potential. What could be the incurring costs and what could be the economic burden? It certainly involves great risk when domestic energy usages are concerned.

The two main advantages with wirelss electricity are one we can have a world without electrical wires and second is electricity supply to each and every corner of the world where there is no natural sunlight also. Getting electricty from solar energy and sending them wireless. Hopefully, want to see something like this in future.

Its a Date But with YES or NO

I read something in a book which i find so interesting and not so interesting but juss wanted to share with you. The author while explaining different cultural meanings of 'Yes' cites this example.

(See a gal and a guy conversation on a date, each belong to a different country and culture)

Guy: Won't you have a dessert?
Gal: Yes, I'm on diet
***(While Gal is on phone, Guy orders and Waitress serves two desserts on table and then)***
Gal: I just said I won't have any! Didn't you hear me say YES??
Guy: YES!
Gal: Do you mean YES, you heard me say NO, or NO, You heard me say YES?
Guy: NO, I mean YES, you said NO, meaning YES, NO?
Gal(Yells): YES! which means NO, I said YES: that is NO! Dont you understand?!
Guy: NO! er....I mean YES....I mean.....
Guy&Gal(In mind): GRR! No wonder they say mixed marriages never work!

PS:As original one in comic style, added some lines in between to make it easy to comprehend.

Superstitions Here in US That You May Also Find Elsewhere

Every culture believes in some kind of superstions and develped nations are not an exception. American people belive that if you sneeze, the soul may go out from your body. Most of the traditional Americans often say "bless you" whenever you sneeze. I use to wonder when highly educated professors used to say the same in the class whenever students used to sneeze.I used to take communication theory class last semester. There used be a girl who used to blessed in every class. Anyways its in the culture that has been followed unconditionally. Some of the popular American superstitions are given below. Most of these beliefs are not uncommon in other parts of the world.

1)Carrying the bride across the threshold gives you luck
[ Mighty Magic: Does it work even if iam not the bridegroom :)]
2)One who marries in june will stay together for ever
[ Mighty Magic: Juss need to check with my parents and grannies :)]
3)Throwing rice on newly weds bless them with many children
[ Mighty Magic: As many as you able to find on couples head)
4)Say 'bread and butter' for avoiding separation from your friends
[Mighty Magic: Dont try this,as your friend may get hungry and ask you for a treat then :)]
5)Do not return food container empty which comes with some food
[Mighty Magic: Only when you get the tasty food]
6)Eat fish for brain food and good fortune
[Mighty Magic: Is Whale fortunate enough to be killed by humans]
7)The body and mind change in every seven years
(Mighty Magic: Need to change a partner and profession in every seven years then :) ]
8)Finding four-leaf clover brings lots of luck
[Mighty Magic: Are you getting ready to find a Clovers Wholesale market now]
9)Wearing a ring in one earlobe brings gud luck
[Mighty Magic: Hey gals n guys, dont think twice to go for it now]

All the credit of the nonsence(juss kidding) here goes to the book that i accidentally found in the shelf of the library when i slightly tilted my head. Also if you want to find interesting etymology of 'honeymoon' and 'fingers crossed' words, pls read the book by yourself (101 American Superstitions by Harry Collis). To be honest, you ought to find interesting jokes, stories and many unknown things in the book. Till then take care:)

PS: My sincere request is - Try not to remember the above superstitions on purpose and not forget to pass them to your frds juss in case :).

On a Lighter Note!

What frivolous things you do when you get bored? I used to jot down whatever comes to my crazy mind since college days. Most of which never used to make much sense. I still preserve those diaries as my sweet memories. Yesterday some random thoughts came to my mind when i was thinking about different professions in our society. Juss wanted to share with you. I will be glad if you share your thoughts about these professions.

A Film Maker: One who makes a motion picture containing 1% message and 99% fuss
Reporter: One who reports an incident/news breathlessly in his/her own terms and conditions
Lawyer: One who has the ability to prove donkey as monkey
Comedian: One who enacts social outcasts in funny way
Police: One who wears a uniform to show nothing but authority
Politician: A parasite who survives on people's weaknesses
Entrepreneur: One who creates a market for the new product which otherwise has no demand

Come On Dudes!! Its the Time to Disco....

"Come On dudes",Now it has become most frequently used term with the roommates. New Place, and New people so cant find more warmer and welcoming term than this one.

Years passed and years yet to live with the wild world, still each moment is new and fresh. Things have been changing constantly in life without prior notice. You imagine the most amazing thing, you are ought to find something like that around you. No clues dudes. The more i want to understand it the more i dont understand it. Trying to go with flow but iam not making it to the fullest.

Recently, i have been watching videos of OSHO, a philosopher, who is famous for his controversial lectures. I felt some of his teachings have strong and valid arguments which influence people's life significantly. Actually, i have seen some people benfitted to some extent. The credit of introducing OSHO goes to my previous roommate. We used to have debates on many issues most of them were related to life. Take home thought from OSHO for me is nothing but questioning the existing systems without any barrier or false ego.

Iam happy to be in a generation which admires the true belief systems and questions the mere existance of all that can't be believed. I think many of us are not blind followers or believers. We are not among them who are like the last generation who blindly followed their previous generations. I think our generation has been clever enough to obey the last generation belief systems and mend our lives according to the changing world needs. Our quest to find the truth is really fascinating and i assume it will continue in future also.

Come on!why even iam thinking about the life which is not in our control. Enjoy the current moments to the fullest that cannot be obtained again by any means. I mean to say, its the time disco for all of you and my self without any preoccupations.

Oops!! It's All About Professionalism!!!

Today when i watched a popular indian tv debate about journalist's responsibilites during reporting sensitive issues, i was quite disappointed by our popular journalist's opinions. The idea of whole debate was to discuss whether professionalism comes first or saving one's life. I didn't understand why they were arguing for an hour to get some consensus on that issue. They should realize that we are humans first before any professional. And their primary duty is to save other human's life irrespective of their profession and it doesn't change if the profession is journalism!!! TV channels need to telecast quality debates which make sense and tell the facts to the people and not the bullshit. TV channels have become unethical and nonsense for audience who wants to get some quality news.

Ofcourse Its New Year 2010

World cant wait to see a new year eventhough we are not sure what is stored for us in the future. Rewinding the past year events and remembering the major ones is something which most of us do and iam not the exception. The hope to start something new and fresh must be in and on everyone's future menu and mind.

Like every year, i took some resoultions in the begining of 2009; Some of them were fulfilled and the remaining were transforming into new avenues. People call life is n't fair to them but i think it is the other way round. Year 2009 was definitely not a roller coaster ride. It was full of up and downs for majority of us. Thanks to the spirit and attitude of everyone who stood still under this economic psunami."If luck makes us lazy, hardwork and willpower drives us forward" this is what i believed so far and will continue to believe in future.

Year 2009: New year 2009 celberation will remain as one of the most memorable experiences with my new friends and new place, Albuquerque. Albuquerque is the fifth largest growing city in the United States. it also has largest tramway in the world. Microsoft started its first businness office here. Any how i enjoyed my stay there. In the second week of january, i had to move back to the university for my master theses completion. I drove across Americas from albuquerque to fargo almost sixteen hundred miles bifurcating the Uniteted States; The most thrilling experience i had so far driving for 23 hrs. Then in university i gained innovative teaching experince until summer 09 which was not less exciting. Later on, i went to visit my home country in september after three years. Mom and dad emotional receiving at the airport was the most unforgettable moment in my life so far. First time, i saw tears in my dad's eyes. I know it is difficult for parents to live away from their kids for long time. I think parent's unconditional love towards their kids is the one thing nobody can deny. The trip was great. i went to tirupati and attended cousins marriage in my native place. My heart was not willing to come back from the warmth of friends and relatives but I had come back to the university in october for a new research project. Finally arrives much awaited graduation commencement in december which was something i craved for years after my undergraduation in India.

I think my real life is juss begining now. And i know there will be many turns in my future which may take me to different arenas in this adventurous life. I call my self as a smug who needs to be unleashed. It is not fair if i dont reveal my set backs as well.Wait a moment why shud i be mentioning them and make this draft more boring. I know it is not advisable to forget the setbacks in one's life but for a change i erased them from my short term memory.

New year 2010:I did nothing special for this new year. First time, I spent my new year alone in peace unlike the past new years. Juss greeted my family members and sent some mails to my dear friends. I brought two DVDs(Ugly Truth and Revolutionery Road) and spent the night watching them. I brought revolutionery road as I like the actress Kate Winslet. But i did not like the movie at all. However, i liked the 'Ugly Truth' movie. Especially climax dilogues were really catching for me because it refers to some of my thoughts in my previous post. On the whole i wanted to scribe something on new year which i did :). Hope you guys have wonderful new year!!!
